When Uncertainty, Becomes Devotion

Just drew and colored this up tonight. And surprisingly, it looks pretty darn awesome! Maybe some of the portions are off and being that I can only color in traditional the colors could be way better but, all in all this actually looks amazing. The only thing I really would complain about is that if I had done this digitally like most people do, you’d obviously be able to tell it’s nighttime. But, oh well. It’s kinda dimly colored in the back.  

Okay, okay! Story! This is a picture inspired on the idea of 10 holding his pups for the first time after their birth. I always imagined him being the VERY reluctant guy, drastically afraid of whether or not he could be a good father considering all his done in life and his background in general; meaning he may not have wanted touch much less hold his own kids for fear that he was somehow going to end up hurting them by mistake. (And when you have giant claws for hands you can almost see why.) However, all that changes just a few hours after his pups are born when they all started to fuss and or cry.

10 can’t just let 13 handle it because she is so exhausted and even if she wasn’t asleep, her mate won’t have the heart to let her do all the work because he would feel she honestly deserves some rest. (You have three babies at the same time and see how quick YOU are to get up) So, though his scared and unsure, 10 picks up all his babies and sits down on a nearby can of preserved goods besides his mates bedside in order to rock and or soothe the babes. Not long into the action, he begins to start feeling something his never felt before. Its like the love he feels for 13 only, much stronger. As though he would literally die just to ensure this tiny creature in his hands never cry again. Suddenly finding new confidence, 10 begins to hum a little tune softly, all the while growing closer to his three new pups as they slowly but surely, fall back into a peaceful sleep.

Even after their under however, the male still hums to them as he finds, he can’t put them down. He doesn’t want to. For as hesitant as he was to be a father and hold them just a few minutes before, 10 now knows that he desperately WANTS the title of being a daddy and suddenly finds that he could never want it any other way. Aww~! 13 somehow found herself one good fellow. Ready to take care of her and their babies at all costs.
